What exactly is SEE? SEE is the result of an idea generated three years ago by the Founder of Saratoga Chariots, Kristine Bellino. The Chariots'(TM) tag line is "Preserving History, Conserving for the Future." With that in mind and fueled by vocal support for alternative forms of transportation in the City of Saratoga Springs, the company's founder and CEO gradually put together a plan for the event. Essentially what began as an idea for an "alternative transportation trade show" grew into something much bigger.
The idea of turning the Expo into a Festival came following a meeting with business leaders who, commenting on the success of the 2006 Fall Festival, determined that Saratoga Springs needed festivals every month. With a fortuitous opening at the Saratoga Springs City Center in April, at a date near both Earth Day and Arbor Day, a leisurely plan for a conference quickly became a fast-approaching opportunity to educate the public en-masse and on a strict deadline.
The SEE's Mission Statement was developed with the basic goal of increasing the public's awareness of and accessibility to environmentally-friendly products, technologies, and services. Organizers want to spotlight Saratoga Springs as a center for health and wellness, with complete deference to its amazing history.
A dynamic team of business leaders, advisors, and citizens has been assembled to execute the event. It is hoped that the SEE will become an annual event that attracts a Green Carpet crowd to Saratoga Springs every year.
How can I participate?
REMEMBER that Admission IS FREE to the public. This includes our many open discussions and lectures.

Make a Donation Donations from $5 are accepted by sending an email to us using our web site. Donations of goods and services may also be accepted. If you are interested please visit the Sponsorships and / or Contact Us pages on our website.
Spread the Word Tell your friends about what we are doing, recycle, think twice before you buy something or throw it in the garbage. The SEE will make a difference one person, one family, one neighbourhood, one city, one country, one world at a time!
Where is the money from the event going? In 2007 we had said that if the event were successful we would incorporate and run the event annually. In 2008 the Saratoga Environmental Expo Foundation, Inc., comprised of a volunteer Board of Directors and Advisors, began running the Saratoga Environmental Expo. Our Board is comprised of business executives, industry leaders, and citizens who believe in our mission to educate the public about what is happening to our environment and make environmentally-friendly solutions and technologies available to all.
All of the money goes toward paying for the event. Any monies left overfollowing the event will go to SEE-designated charities and causes. For example, it has been our goal since last year to be able to donate to the City of Saratoga Springs a biodiesel vehicle. We have one paid staff member. Our quarterly financial statements are available upon request.
What on Earth are "Waves?" Waves are visuals representations of SEE's logo and are commonly called "pinups" by the retail industry. Waves can be purchased for $5. Individuals who purchase Waves are eligible to receive a gift at the Expo. They must go to the Expo to pick up their gift (a T-shirt).
The purchase of Waves is a good way for someone who wants to support the event, but who is more comfortable spending less money to do so. T-shirts will be commemorative and will change every year.
Retailers who sell Waves may keep $1 for each Wave sold. Questions regarding Waves should be directed to the Wave Coordinator.
Tell me about the T-shirt design contest. The T-shirt design contest will be launched within the next few weeks.
Are we naming a polar bear? We are naming our mascot. We do hope to adopt a polar bear in the future, but for now we are adopting only a mascot. A contest to name the polar bear will be launched for children 18 and younger. Details on this are forthcoming.
Where can I get SEE merchandise? SEE merchandise will be available at the event and on our website. We are continually adding merchandise to our website. Sales of merchandise will go to support the event and to the SEE's selected charities.
